Jane Burnett has
the scoop.
American
University professor and magician Barry Gordemer put his metal rings to the
test. He made his students think about whether it’s possible to “bend” the
truth.
Gordemer started
off the trick in the classroom by talking about his college internship with a ghost
one summer. Apparently, the only thing the spirit liked about being dead was his
ability to walk through things. He then taught Gordemer how to make solid
objects pass through each other.
The magician
showed his skills to his Communications class last week.

Some enjoyed
it, like Nick Tedesco, who hoped to find a hole in the trick that would lead to
an answer.
But
some were not as dazzled. Student Cassie Smith was expecting not only to be only stunned,
but also enlightened.
Maybe magic,
like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
