ANCHOR: A professor at American University gave his students a spooky surprise on Thursday when he treated his class to a Halloween themed magic trick.
Miranda Batch has the story.
BATCH: Former magician Barry Gordemer showed how to make two seemingly solid rings link together. Gordemer told the tale of how he learned the trick in a story fit for the holiday, explaining that it was his ghost mentor who taught him the ways of magic.
Before attempting the trick, Gordemer first had his students inspect the rings to make sure they were solid.
The trick remains a staple for Gordemer, who has even shown it off to some famous faces.
Gordemer says that the Clinton's didn't catch on to how the trick was done, and neither did Michael Lovito, one of Gordemer's students.
The execution may not be as difficult as he thinks, however.
